DIY Berkshire Style

Posted on by Kaitlyn in Berkshires, Style | Leave a comment

Growing up in the Berkshires I never saw the culture and people the same way most New Yorkers do. To me, it has always been a small place where most everyone knows of you some how and “Style” was never one of the first words that came to mind when you think of the area.

Now that I have started to really network as an adult here and discovered some of the fantastically talented designers & trendy boutiques my perception is changing. One of the things that the area is really known for is the DIY kind of style. Of course this does not mean cheap glue gun projects, but rather unique one of a kind pieces that have been hand crafted for a specific aesthetic.

That being said, I decided to embrace the Berkshire’s DIY style and dedicate time to creating some unique accessories to add to my own wardrobe. Not only is it trendy, it is far more affordable and provides me with another creative outlet and more great things to share with you.

I had made this necklace about a year ago, it was the first thing I never really attempted. It is pretty but didn’t last very long, it will be interesting to design and try to assemble some new pieces.
